The YG032E Automatic Hydraulic Diaphragm Bursting Tester is specifically engineered for performing bursting strength testing of knitted fabrics using pneumatic control. This advanced instrument is also suitable for testing leather, paper, cardboard, and various other materials.

Testing Procedure

The burst tester measures fabric strength by applying increasing hydrostatic pressure to a circular specimen area via an elastic diaphragm. The specimen is securely clamped, and pressure increases until failure occurs within 20 ± 3 seconds. The measurement is independent of cutting direction since failure naturally occurs in the least resistance direction.

Procedure Steps:

  • Clamp fabric sample over rubber diaphragm
  • Increase fluid pressure until specimen bursts within 20 ± 3 seconds (P1)
  • Record diaphragm height (extension)
  • Conduct additional test without specimen
  • Record pressure required (P2)
  • Calculate actual bursting strength: P1 - P2
